Rooted in tradition. Alive in the room.

A familiar melody can bring generations together. A well-chosen dance can turn a room of guests into one shared celebration. Our Queens-based ensemble brings that spirit to weddings, baptisms, festivals, private events and Greek nights.

Our repertoire draws on Rebetiko, Laiko, Nisiotika and traditional Greek music. We shape the musical direction around your guests and the traditions you want to celebrate. If a song, dance or regional style matters to your family, let us know early so we can discuss it.

Meet the musicians

The band was formed by Tommy Kavounidis, a Berklee College of Music graduate who leads its musical direction. Our musicians bring their voices, instruments and individual backgrounds together in a shared love of Greek music.

Tommy Kavounidis

Bandleader and music director · Bouzouki, tzouras, baglamas, laouto and guitar. Tommy connects Greek musical traditions with New York’s live music scene and works with you on the sound of your event.

Eleni Moniodi

Vocals · Eleni brings warmth and emotion to classic Laika, Rebetika, island songs and dance music.

George Vardaros

Violin, guitar and vocals · George’s melodic voice helps the band move between island traditions, intimate listening and energetic Greek dancing.

Nikitas Tampakis

Viola, baglamas, keyboard and vocals · Nikitas adds musical range, string textures and the character of traditional instruments.

Erikos Vlesmas

Bass · Erikos provides the foundation and momentum beneath the band’s voices, melodies and dance rhythms.

David Chorowski

Percussion and oud · David brings rhythmic energy and Eastern Mediterranean color to the ensemble.

Stefanos Athinaios

Drums and percussion · A Berklee graduate, Stefanos combines drum set with Mediterranean percussion, supporting the music from intimate moments to lively celebrations.

Different celebrations call for different combinations. Our options range from four to five musicians to a fuller seven or eight-plus ensemble, with custom instrumentation available.
